xanga is cramping my style. so is crowley. and feeling poor. and not going to six flags because i feel poor. i haven't updated in quite a while, and i guess that's mainly because there hasn't been anything to update about. Besides the AGA responsibilities, i'm still pretty jobless. but you know what? it's been kind of nice laying in bed until 11, and getting up for the sole purpose of sustenance and daily show/colbert report re-runs. it's probably the last summer that i'll ever spend doing absolutely nothing.

i've had a few adventures with friends this summer, though...chelsea and i went to a stupid show and had a pretty good time making fun of a lot of the kids there. we also went to the 100 most famous photos of america exhibit at the amon carter. stewart pirated a scanner darkly and we found out how to hook our laptops up to my parents' big screen. so now piracy is 75% more rewarding. oh yeah, we also saw batman begins in the omni theatre. can i get a what what? as if batman weren't awesome enough...this was batman times 1,000.

and today i saw john tucker must die, with my sister. i wish it held true to the title...girls plotting the death of a schoolmate would have been much more worth my money than girls plotting the mild embarassment of a schoolmate. but in the end, we all learned a lesson: dating multiple girls is okay, as long as they're all hot.

so three movies that i'm looking forward to now are: 1. little miss sunshine, because steve carrell is neat, and it has that little girl from Signs - one of the few child actors that I can stand. 2. the fountain, because darren aronofsky is kind of cool, and 3. Charlotte's Web, because there's something about talking pig movies that gets me. oh, and steve buschemi plays Templeton. wait, there are four. 4. the wicker man, because even though it stars nicholas cage, if you've seen version 1.0, you'll know that the ending will be a treat. I also am a firm believer that any movie which has a jar of testicles as a prop, is a good one.

p.s. i wish more of this album would have been on a scanner darkly. i think the two go together very well. 'cymbal rush' is my favorite.

That...was...one of the best shows.....ever. I'm still pretty tired from all of the driving, but god damn. Tom Violence, Catholic Block, Eric's Trip AND Kool Thing??? amazing.

The only beef I had with the entire night (besides a Justaburger) was that...well, there was a reason I bought my ticket the day it went on sale. And there was a reason I got matt's ticket on will call. Look...all i'm saying is, you come late - you stay in the back. No more "Excuse me, I'm trying to get in front of you, even though there's quite obviously no space whatsoever." Of course, now it's too late...but matt and i somehow found ourselves like mid-crowd in the middle of sonic youth's set, because of some jerks who decided they would be...well, jerks.

the highlight of the evening was very obviously Kool Thing. Kim Gordon is such a babe. I saw Coco before the show with her friend, too. They were cute. I guess she looks more like Thurston than Kim, but not too much like either of them.

Anyway, now that that's over I have absolutely nothing to look forward to for the rest of the summer. I think it's quite possible that every single show that I go to is going to pale in comparison, from now on. I'm always gonna leave saying "I've seen better," cause i most definitely just did. Here's wishing that Sonic Youth doesn't retire anytime soon - i think they're still good for at least another two rounds.

cooooooooooool! AGA is getting under way. i've written like four posts already, but i still need to probably tweak some, just to make sure they don't sound retarded. i'm pretty sure more than anything, right now, i sound like a motivational speaker in my posts. but what ev'. i'll change them up. check this out:

"You  all are such a fantastic, well-rounded and diverse group, I can't tell you how many people are chomping at the bit to hear from you. In an exchange with Lisa Miya-Jervis, the (now former) editor of  Bitch last week about the project, she was -- as all of us are -- so thrilled to see something like this come to pass. I think you'll  find very shortly that a lot of women you've looked up to in your  lives will also be looking up to YOU."

the editor of Bitch magazine is gonna be reading! aaand "other people i've looked up to," apparently. i guess i'm semi-glad i haven't gotten a job, yet. i'd really like to focus on reading/writing for this thing.

stewart and i watched the new 'omen' and tank girl the other day. and constantine yesterday. out of the three, i unfortunately have to say that the majority of them sucked like the dickens. anything that has an 'even stevens' character as a supporting actor, and heavy bible rhetoric is going to be kind of lame. and the new omen? boy did they screw that one up. i was generally unimpressed, and not scared at all. gregory peck and david warner just have something that liev schreiber and guy-from--that-island of dr.moreau-movie can't match.

anyway, it's time to go read/write/watch roseanne. i need to map out my journey of denton, to dallas, back to denton, then to lewisville sometime soon...maybe tomorrow.

p.s. deanna - sorry i missed your b-day party! i got up kind of late, but drove by around 1:45 ish but nobody was there. i have a mini-present to deliver to you!

aaaaaahhh i'm getting so excited about Sonic Youth!! only one more week...it's gonna be amazing. I think i'm gonna leave for denton kind of early so matt and i can hang out or something. i've been snooping around and it turns out at the CBGB show they played on the 13th, i think, they played Rather Ripped, all the way through. and only rather ripped all the way through...well, plus erik's trip. but seriously...i can't say i'm not gonna be disappointed if that's all they play.

they're on letterman tonight, apparently, so i'm bearing robert duvall and some bad comedy act to get to them.

hmm...well, that's all for now.
